Fedora In The Cloud

Fedora provides ready-to-run cloud images for each supported Fedora release. These are available in Amazon EC2 and for direct download. The downloadable images are available in compressed raw image format and in qcow2 for immediate use with OpenStack. The images are configured with cloud-init, and so will take advantage of ec2-compatible metadata services for provisioning ssh keys.

Note that the root account is disabled, but sudo access is granted to a special login user. For Fedora 19 and newer releases, this user is fedora.
For Fedora 18 and older releases the user is ec2-user.

Currently supported EC2 Images

Choose the region and machine architecture and just click to launch in your Amazon Web Services account. Or, copy the AMI ID and use that to launch from the AWS Console or command-line tools.

Fedora 20 Downloadable Cloud Images

Download these images for use with your local private cloud, or to modify and upload to a public cloud. The qcow2 images can be used directly by OpenStack. The raw.xz images can be used by other cloud infrastructure software but will need to be uncompressed first.
For any doubts about running Instances on OpenStack read the documentation.

Fedora ARM

Fedora 20 ARM

ARM chips are the most widely-produced processor family in the world; they have historically been used in cell phones and embedded applications, and are increasingly used in tablet devices and low-power-consumption servers. The Fedora-ARM project is an initiative to bring Fedora to this processor family.

For more informations about changes and new features please read the Release Notes.

Note for Raspberry Pi users

Raspberry Pi support is now included in Pidora, an optimised Fedora Remix which includes additional Pi-modules.

Available images and instructions:

Fedora for ARM includes two image types–one for use with platforms requiring a VFAT partition (BeagleBone Black), the other for use with devices that boot from an EXT partition (Trimslice). For each of these there are a number of desktop choices including MATE, KDE, Xfce, LXDE, SOAS and a minimal image that does not include the desktop. Any of these images can be used with QEMU.
