Personal Information

I'm 25 years old, not married and I have a daughter Celina, born in 2003. My son Felix is on his way and is scheduled to arrive on November 17th, 2006. We'll see if he'll arrive on time.
I study maths and earn my money with my small webdesign & development company.

Me and the Computer

The first time I used a computer was about 1986: my dad had a Commodore C64 and C128. In 1989 I got my first own computer, the Amiga 500. In 1993 I got my first PC, a 386-DX-33. I've seen and used every Windows-Version from 3.1 to XP. My first Linux-System was RedHat 6.0 in 1999. In the past seven years, I tried other distributions: Corel Linux (long gone...), Suse, Mandrake (now Mandriva) and Debian, but I always came back to RedHat.
I've started programming with QBASIC in the early nineties, later I moved on to C++ and Java. Today I write niche-software for small companies, mainly in C++ and Java for various platforms.

Why Fedora / why Linux?

I'm not one of those, using Linux for religious reasons only. I don't think that Bill Gates and Microsoft are evil. But I think that Linux and especially Fedora is the best choice for every user who wants to control his system and not wants to be controlled by his system. No restrictive licences, the possibility to look at the code of every piece of software on the system, the possibility to work on the code and, of course, the reliability of Fedora are only a few reasons why I prefer it.
