Detailed Description

Gnome-do provides an incredible amount of features and power to the average gnome or kde user. The ability to discretely activate applications in a gui without a mouse is very enticing. Fedora users can benefit by removing the requirements to use a mouse (save web browsing) again.

Gnome-do provides plugins which help for IM, twitter, shutdown/restart, etc. Plus the ability to launch, search, etc., things normally that can be done in a Desktop/Window Manager

Benefit to Fedora

Many things that can be done with the current gnome-applets and gnome-panels can easily be done in gnome-do more efficiently. Gnome-do is a much more discrete way to activate, search, launch or do just about anything else. Here's a couple simple use cases.

Use Cases

  • Frank wants to IM his buddy john
  • Jim wants to listen to some Megadeth
  • Alice wishes to shutdown her computer.
