When my day job as a Photographic Imaging Professional and Graphic Designer comes to a close for the day, I don the suit of a free and open-source software developer. I use many different development tools and environments. Geany, gedit and kate to name just a few.

Activities within Fedora

I have been dabbling with Fedora releases since Fedora Core 5, which still remains one of my favorite Linux releases due to its rock solid stability and reliability. Then I have to admit, I did make myself absent from Fedora releases for a couple of years in favor of other distributions, until Fedora 11 came along and re-ignited my interest in Fedora and Red Hat.

Past Linux involvement

I originally got involved with Linux with SUSE 8 which at the time came free with a magazine I had bought. Back then, I had no idea what Unix/Linux was or how it worked. But I have Novell and SUSE 8 to thank for sparking my interest in Linux which would last for years to come and get stronger as Linux development evolved. Over the years I've also played around in the Unix world with FreeBSD and NetBSD. But the more I got involved with Linux, I became interested in the development side of things. So I studied Linux Fundamentals and plan to finish studying Linux System Administration and finally Network Administration.

Although Fedora is my primary involvement at the moment, I still maintain high interest and use of other Linux distributions such as Ubuntu and several Fedora Spins.

Current Linux involvement

I've always wanted to get involved in development with Linux to give something back to the community in which I have taken so much from. Thankfully, I've had the opportunity to do so with Fedora and the Fedora Design Suite Spin development team.

I regularly dabble in free and open-source software development. I use many different development tools and environments. Primarily Geany, gedit and nano to name just a few.

Current projects

I have moved and maintain my current projects list to my own website here http://photoresolutions.freehostia.com/softtech.htm

Future plans

I plan to continue to develop on and for Fedora and Linux.
