poker2d

File:Games poker2d ss screen.jpg GTK poker client to play on a poker-network server

Play poker with other players connected on a poker-network server (holdem, omaha, omaha high/low, stud 7 ...) in ring games, sit and go or multitables tournaments. poker2d will automaticaly reconnect to the table if the connection is lost and allows playing on multiple tables simultaneously.

General Information

Installing and Running

poker2d is available under the Fedora Community repository, and can be installed using the yum tool. To install, either use a front-end tool (like pirut) or issue the following command in a terminal as root:

yum install poker2d

This will grab the game and all its dependencies from the Internet, so you need to be connected to the Internet. After installing, you can run the program under the menu:

Games -> Card Games -> poker2d

Or press ALT+F2 on your desktop (or go to a terminal like gnome-terminal and konsole), type poker2d, and press Enter.

yum install poker2d-kde

Configuration

poker2d will create a directory in your $HOME directory called .poker2d/. This directory contains a file called poker2d.xml which contains configuration parameters such as which server to establish a connection with.

Other configuration options may be set from the Options menu in game.

Gameplay

poker2d is automatically configured to connect to poker.pokersource.info where you will be able to create an account and start playing. Once connected, you can select the type of game you wish to play by pressing the buttons at the top of the screen from the lobby. Two types of money are available, play and custom, where custom money is usually considered to be real money, but varies from server to server.

Game Controls

KDE users who installed the poker2d-kde package will have the following hot-keys available to them:

  • CTRL-C - Call
  • CTRL-R - Raise
  • CTRL-Right - Increase Raise
  • CTRL-Left - Decrease Raise
  • CTRL-Up - Increase Raise by amount of big blind
  • CTRL-Down - Decrease Raise by amount of big blind
  • CTRL-P - Raise the amount that is in the pot
  • CTRL-H - Raise half the amount that is in the pot
  • CTRL-F - Fold

Tips

  • You can win real money for free by playing in freeroll tournaments. These are sometimes hosted by the default server and you can locate them by clicking on the "Regular" and "Custom Money" buttons.
