Fedora 11 has i586 as the base 32-bit x86 architecture.
Fedora 11 ha i586 come architettura di base per processori x86 a 32 bit.<BR>Con Fedora 12, si transiterà a i686 come architettura di base (incluso CMOV), e si ottimizza per i processori Atom. Ciò significa, che le seguenti famiglie di CPU non avranno più supporto:


For Fedora 12, we will switch to i686 as the base architecture (including CMOV), and optimize for Atom processors.
* Intel i586 (tutte)

This means we will lose support for the following CPU families:
* VIA C3 (Ezra e Samuel Cores)

AMD Geode LX (as used in the OLPC XO laptop) and later Geode NX processors should still work.

Fedora 11 ha i586 come architettura di base per processori x86 a 32 bit.
Con Fedora 12, si transiterà a i686 come architettura di base (incluso CMOV), e si ottimizza per i processori Atom. Ciò significa, che le seguenti famiglie di CPU non avranno più supporto:

  • Intel i586 (tutte)
  • Processori National Semiconductor Geode
  • VIA C3 (Ezra e Samuel Cores)
  • AMD Geode GX

I processori AMD Geode LX (impiegati nei portatili OLPC XO) e i successivi Geode NX dovrebbero funzionare.
