Current Testing Tree

Rawhide is the current testing tree. You can install from one of your local mirrors or build your own ISOs if you need installation media.

Release Criteria and Feature Status

  • ["QA/ReleaseCriteria"]
  • ["Releases/9/FeatureList"]

Major Changes

  • New device encryption and partition resizing support in anaconda - please test if possible!

Known Issues

There was the blocker bug for the Alpha release release: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=f9alpha . Any open bugs on this list are known issues at the time F9 Alpha shipped.

New bugs should be filed here: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/enter_bug.cgi?product=Fedora&version=rawhide

  • Firstboot does not offer to create a user account (fixed in rawhide)
  • Log in as root and create a user (System -> Administration -> Users and Groups)
  • "Shut down" and "Restart" options on login screen don't work
  • dmraid not detected during install
  • rescue with encrypted block devices does not work
  • upgrades may fail to find /boot partition - boot with updates=http://people.redhat.com/clumens/f9a-updates.img

Status Whiteboard

These are notes on issues we've encountered that may not be on the blocker list yet. We're in the process of investigating them - bugs will be filed soon.

  • intel video: switching between X and text mode can cause X to lock up
  • intel video: using DRI / OpenGL causes X to lock up (maybe? needs retesting)
  • radeon video may not work

Blocker Bugs

For reference, here are the Blocker and Target bugs for this release:
