After creating a grub config file with grub2-mkconfig, the file it creates contains a warning urging me not to edit it. I'd like to make some changes to this file. Would it be a problem to no longer make it read-only? Is there some more automated way to make changes? I think that this article should make the answers to these questions clear. It would be great to know if this will land in Fedora 14 or be deferred.

After creating a grub config file with grub2-mkconfig, the file it creates contains a warning urging me not to edit it. I'd like to make some changes to this file. Would it be a problem to no longer make it read-only? Is there some more automated way to make changes? I think that this article should make the answers to these questions clear. [edit] Can this be edited to reflect the change in time

Has the number of releases of Grub2 since this feature's page was first created - coupled with other distributions acceptance and testing of Grub2 - enable us to edit some of the things under "Scope"?

[edit] Update release notes section

  • Can you update the release notes section with something at least basic so I can move this on to FESCo? It can be as simple as just adding in a line about what grub2 is/does. --Rbergero 18:43, 29 May 2011 (UTC)
  • I wrote a short blurb there, might need some tweaks. Peter, it would really help users if you'd make a wiki page explaining the configuration changes. Elad 19:11, 1 July 2011 (UTC)

[edit] os-prober

Debian & Ubuntu use os-prober, not sure if it can be used by non-Debian distros. Jbicha 02:32, 19 July 2011 (UTC)

I have already packaged it for Fedora, and filled a bug for grub2 to add it as a dependency. Hedayat 13:33, 15 Aug 2011 (UTC)

[edit] DVD?

Is it possible to recover with a Fedora 16 CD? If so, we may with to say so. Thanks. - Kitchm (talk) 00:56, 14 September 2012 (UTC)
