Initial review 2011-03-13

  • Please fill out all sections of the template
  • Your spin mist follow the Spins Guidelines, e.g it must be based on one of the base ks files
  • Please remove all non-Fedora stuff from the ks, even if it's commented out
  • Include fedora-live-desktop.ks and add what you need instead of starting from fedora-livecd-desktop.ks and then removing so much
  • Remove the graphics drivers stuff, they are part of the base kickstarts
  • To remove stuff, you can include fedora-live-minimization.ks instead of specifying everything individually
  • You are modifying installed packages in %post. This is not allowed, once installed, all packages must be complete. You can only make these changes for the livecd, this means this needs to happen in the livecd initscript /etc/rc.d/init.d/livesys. Refer to other kickstarts for how to do this.
  • When you are done, mark the spin "Spins_Ready_For_Wrangler" again
  • If you want this spin for F15, please do this ASAP because we are already late

- Based on lack of time, a new goal for this will be for the Fedora 16 release. The review above provides important information on do's and don't within Fedora hosted spins. Also, I think the minimization ks are new and these may help a lot in keeping the size down, while providing a useful range of applications within a CD size image. --sunset06 02:51, 24 April 2011 (UTC)

Why lite?

Why "lite"? Is there any other music spin? --Cwickert 02:11, 13 March 2011 (UTC)

- Not yet. The idea was to show of capabilities with Fedora only packages, and limited to a single CD. A full, out of Fedora spin was discussed, that would include RPM Fusion packages that make the spin more representative of all that is on offer. This has not been actioned. --sunset06 02:42, 24 April 2011 (UTC)
