About the « display configuration » test day, I think this issue might be kind of relevant. See the last comment for un up-to-date description of the bug as it was open a while ago. --Mathieu Bridon 19:42, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

DisplayManager ?

Has there been any thought to whether it would be worth developing a quick switch / application / applet icon that sits next to network manager in the tray.

The same types of plug events could be queried of the user like: An extra / external display was plugged in, would you like to extend your desktop onto the new screen, or clone the existing screen to the new screen [extend] [clone] [nochange]

and so on...

It would have "presets" that the user defines and adds to, like network manager: - built in display at clearest resolution - built in display and external display cloned - etc.

Pressing the display cycle button (fn-f4 etc) would step through each preset in order. --sunset06 14:35, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
