Current Guidelines

(See http://fedora.redhat.com/About/legal/trademarks/)

  • Only software from Fedora Project
  • Distributor must warranty media if it charges a fee

Modification of software requires stripping the trademarks. No complete definition of "software" is given.

ISSUE: Isn't changing anaconda, comps.xml, etc., changing the software? How do we square this with the TM guidelines? Rather than exceptions based on specific packages/filenames, should we make a suggestion for how to delineate acceptable modifications?

Toolset

ISSUE: Should we provide a toolbox for stripping trademarks and genericizing Fedora?
