[10:05] *** You set the channel topic to "KDE SIG Meeting -- https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/SIGs/KDE/Meetings/2008-12-16 -- Init". [10:05] hi all, kde sig meeting start. who's present today? [10:05] Present.[10:05] here [10:06] John5342, than, kde*foo: ping [10:06] present [10:06] hi [10:06] * jreznik present [10:06] *** You set the channel topic to "KDE SIG Meeting -- https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/SIGs/KDE/Meetings/2008-12-16 -- Agenda". [10:07] rdieter: just sorting those updates now [10:07] Looks like we don't have much of an agenda yet, so let's start with soliciting other topics [10:08] I have only one bug note for free talk section :)[10:08] ok, let's hope for a quick meeting then... [10:08] *** You set the channel topic to "KDE SIG Meeting -- https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/SIGs/KDE/Meetings/2008-12-16 -- kde-4.1.85 status". [10:09] kde-4.1.85 status: rawhide is good, kde-redhat/unstable pkgs built, livecd primed and ready [10:09] one thing I found out today, looks like we may need a newer akonadi, see http://fpaste.org/paste/584 [10:09] kde-l10n is still busted though. [10:10] It needs a fix for the entity definitions in kdelibs. [10:10] oh, I thought we had a patched kdelibs on the way? [10:10] Than committed a patch for es, gl and ru, but at least pt still needs fixing. [10:10] ok, work in progress. [10:10] es, gl & tu already in upstream [10:10] Folks in #kontact told me that kontact error means a newer akonadi is required, unfortunately, the current akonadi-1.0.80 *is* the latest available [10:11] Kevin_Kofler: which language is dtill broken? [10:11] than: Portuguese (pt). [10:11] And I don't know if the languages after pt in the alphabet build, because the build failed at pt. :-) [10:11] I pinged kde-packager and kde-release team. we'll see what comes of that [10:11] Kevin_Kofler: i will take care of it [10:12] than: OK, great. [10:12] rdieter: OK, we really need to complain about this sort of things louder, if a newer Akonadi is needed for a release, even beta, of KDE, then they must actually make a tarball of it.[10:12] +999999 [10:13] I'm really fed up of being told to check things out of SVN to get some official tarball release to build. [10:14] that shouldn't be requied, there's clearly been a mistake here, hopefully we can get it fixed asap [10:14] anything else wrt 4.2-beta2? [10:15] Well... [10:15] What's up with Phonon's device priorities? [10:16] There are some reports that it fails to make PulseAudio the default. [10:16] I have to recheck our patches to see if anything is missing. [10:16] rdieter: packages have been submitted for testing [10:17] the comments on fedora-kde list? Yeah, we'll have to follow-up on that. Soonish, (prolly with 4.2-beta2) I'll take the plunge using it, so I can help to try to reproduce. [10:17] John5342: thx [10:18] *** You set the channel topic to "KDE SIG Meeting -- https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/SIGs/KDE/Meetings/2008-12-16 -- open discussion". [10:18] ok, open floor, jreznik? [10:18] rdieter: I added the kdelibs3 update to the agenda. [10:19] ok, # kdelibs3 update (libkscreensaver removal, LaTeX syntax description update, anything else?) [10:19] *** You set the channel topic to "KDE SIG Meeting -- https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/SIGs/KDE/Meetings/2008-12-16 -- kdelibs3 update (libkscreensaver removal, LaTeX syntax description update, anything else?)". [10:19] Mostly a FYI: I pushed a kdelibs3 with the libkscreensaver removed out to F9 and F10 testing. The motivation was that I also updated the LaTeX syntax description. [10:20] The version it shipped was from Kile 2.0. [10:20] There had been some fixes in 2.0.1, and the 2.0.3 version again came with fixes. [10:20] So I patched the latest version in to make sure Kile uses the latest syntax description. [10:20] cool. I suppose in the event that there's ever another kde3 release, could consider upstreaming back to kdelibs(3) svn. [10:20] We need kdelibs3 updated in F9 and F10 anyway to prevent libkscreensaver conflicts with kdebase-workspace-4.2. [10:21] [Notify] warren went offline (irc.freenode.org). [10:21] If there's anything else needing changing in kdelibs3, please let me know before this goes stable so we can push it out at the same time. [10:22] From my side that's all about this topic, so if nobody has any requests for kdelibs3 changes, we can move on.[10:22] *** You set the channel topic to "KDE SIG Meeting -- https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/SIGs/KDE/Meetings/2008-12-16 -- open discussion". [10:23] well info from my collegue, can be interesting for someone :) - https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=475007 - so now qt4 engine should work in OO (with next update) [10:23] Bug 475007: medium, low, ---, caolanm@redhat.com, MODIFIED, Qt4 theme messes up openoffice toolbars [10:23] That's the gtk-qt-engine with the OO.o GTK+ NWF. [10:24] gtk-qt-engine + ooo has been broken for ages. yay! [10:24] Is there any progress on the KDE 4 NWF? Or are they still stuck on KDE 3? [10:24] I'll follow that, could possibly put the env into gtk-qt-engine too. [10:26] And is anybody interested in getting the native openoffice.org-kde finally packaged? I considered doing it, but never got around to it. [10:26] [Notify] warren is online (irc.freenode.org). [10:27] i dont mind taking a look at it [10:27] it's nonsense now to package kde 3 oo [10:27] we should poke caolan again, but you're right about kde3 vs kde4. If it's still only kde3, not sure if it's all that worth it (kde3 on kde4 desktop isn't that much of an improvement over the default gtk one) [10:28] there is some work done for go-oo [10:32] anything else for today? [10:33] 10 [10:33] 8 [10:33] 6 [10:33] 4 [10:33] 2 [10:33] ok, I guess that's all for today. thanks all. [10:34] kde sig meeting end
