Fedora 7 isolinux test
For Fedora 7's boot menu to work with the qemu video BIOS, we need to make a late change with syslinux to prefer 16bpp over 24bpp. This is a little scary for this stage of the game. To help ensure that this change won't lead to bigger regressions across the board, we've created a test ISO image that we would appreciate getting testing feedback on.
You can download the image from [1] . Burn it to a CD, and try to boot it on as much hardware as you can find. Please then add your results to this table.

Failed to rebrand the first screen top line "fedora core". Actually, after the first screen, top left is: Welcome to Fedora Core. and eg CD Not Found: The Fedora Core CD was not found in ... insert Fedora Core CD....

image quality
- image quality is inferior. With 16bpp, are you limited to a particular palette ?
- Yes, we're limited to 16 bits per pixel - i.e. 32768 colors. However, this should be compatible with more video BIOSes, so the tradeoff is worthwhile.
i810 text mode menu
i810 machines don't get the graphical image and instead come up in just a black and white text mode. This also occurs with older boot.isos. i810 also doesn't work with the vesa driver in X. So I think that this is just a general problem of the hardware not supporting vesa. I've fixed things in CVS so that you get proper highlight with the text mode menu like this.
