Naresh Kumar

I came to this planet in 1982. I was born and brought up in Chennai, India. I finished my degree in Electrical and Electronics from University of Madras. My friends are the most important aspects of my life and I try treating every single one of them accordingly.

I have great passion for computers, software and technology. I have been using Linux over the past two years. My Linux exploration started with Slax live CD. I have also tried my hands on Free BSD. Fedora is a great distribution backed up by a very active community. I have completed my RH 253 training on Red hat Enterprise Linux 4. Currently I am working as Software Engineer - Testing for a multinational health care firm.

Activities within Fedora

  • To bring awareness among software engineers, graduates and colleagues that there is life beyond Windows. I have seen people staring at my laptop and asking me which operating system do I run and their surprise when I say that I run Linux. They couldn't believe that I could actually do everything what they do on their Windows Vista, and more!!
  • Primary objective would be to take Linux "One person at a time". Encourage friends and colleagues to try their hands on Linux motivate them to contribute back to the community. All that a new user requires is assistance and support for the first few weeks of their transition.
