Revision as of 16:09, 23 November 2010

This page is a draft only
It is still under construction and content may change. Do not rely on the information on this page. Refer to Logo/UsageGuidelines for current guidelines.

These are the official brand and logo usage guidelines. Usage of Fedora and related logos must follow the guidelines as specified below. All uses must also comply with the official trademark guidelines.

Obtaining the logos

Do not use the images on this page
The images on this page are not licensed for reuse as fedora trademarks. Please obtain copies of Fedora-related logos as instructed below, and follow all applicable guidelines set out on this page and in the official trademark guidelines.

Registered trademarks

Registered trademarks include the fedora logo, and the remix logos.

In order to obtain properly licensed copies of the registered Fedora logos, you must send a request to the logo queue at logo@fedoraproject.org. Please include a brief description of the way(s) you plan on using the logo. Also please be patient as this queue is run by a human being.

Unregistered trademarks

Unregistered trademarks include the foundations and fudcon logos and may be obtained at Link here.

Fedora

About

The Fedora logo symbolizes the Fedora Project and all that it does — the operating system it creates as well as the community that creates it.

Guidelines

Usage of the Fedora logo must follow the common guidelines listed on this page.

If you must use only one color, use the word design logo. Do not use the infinity logo. The logotype should be clearly distinguishable from the background color. Honor the Fedora logo palette when possible, using black or white if necessary.

Permitted logo variants

Trademark guidelines in effect
Fedora®, the Fedora word design, and the Infinity design logo, either separately or in combination, are trademarks of Red Hat, Inc., and their permitted usage is documented in the trademark guidelines. Although these logos are available here on the wiki, they are NOT licensed for any use except as specifically set out in the trademark guidelines.

Fedora Remix

About

The Fedora Remix logo is the secondary trademark described in the trademark guidelines.

All of these logos are inside the remix/ directory of fedora-logos.tar.gz.

Usage of the Fedora Remix logo must follow the common guidelines listed on this page.

Fonts

Fonts may be in flux
Follow along on the design-team list. This is mainly a note for Ian so that he can remember to reach a consensus before pushing.

We recommend the following complementary fonts to use along with the logos. Both recommended fonts are openly licensed and freely distributable. Do not use Bryant2, the typeface used in the logotype. It is non-free and cannot be distributed with Fedora.

Comfortaa

We recommend using Comfortaa as a title font. Comfortaa may be installed from the Fedora repositories.

We recommend using Cantarell as a text font. Cantarell may be installed from the Fedora repositories.
