Description

Ensure that an image saved with Podman 5.1 can be loaded successfully in Podman 5.2.

Setup

A Fedora system with Podman 5.2 installed, and access to an image saved from Podman 5.1.

How to test

  1. On a system with Podman 5.1, save an image using podman save -o <image-name>.tar <image-name>.
  2. Transfer the saved image to a system with Podman 5.2.
  3. Load the image on the Podman 5.2 system with podman load -i <image-name>.tar.
  4. Verify the image is loaded by listing images with podman images.

Expected Results

  1. The image is saved without errors from Podman 5.1.
  2. Podman 5.2 loads the saved image successfully, with no errors.
  3. The loaded image appears in the image list and is usable for container creation.
