WHY FEDORA

Fedora project is the leading project in open source. It is devoted to build a nicely operating system, while I have exactly the same dream.

GSOC PARTICIPATION

This is the first time I’m taking part in GSOC.

CONTRIBUTION

I am interning at RedHat Kernel Developing Team, taking care of bugs concerning kdump/kexec, collaborating with many open source peole.

I had my first patch merged into linus's kernel tree. I am now fight my way out in Eudyptula Challenge.

WHY CHOOSE ME

I am dedicated to OS(kernel) since I am in my sophomore year. Now I am a postgraduate student in ICT,CAS and a intern in RedHat, so fundamental knowledge about computer system and open sources both become available. Plus, I am backed up by these super-talented colleagues 8-) I have plenty of time from May to September.

OTHER OPEN SOURCE EXPERIENCES I attended several open source conferences like OSTC, GDG, even open source hardware!

WHAT ELSE I CAN DO

I can draw cartoons... maybe I can design a logo for this project?

TIMELINE

Here is a rough plan. More detailed plan comes after discussing with mentor.

Applying Stage: Apply and familiarize with tutor and documentation.

Season I  : School's Spring term finishes on in 19 June. Before that I have plenty of free time to complete most of the codes and document the project.

Break  : School's Summer term begins. Might not be much time to focus on the project. Do some bug fixes. Continue documenting.

Season II  : Summer holiday! work full-time! Final burst and test/beautify and then submit for final evaluation.

FINAL DELIVERABLES

Stable system and fully documented code.
