Current status

  • Tracker bug: #1191543

Detailed Description

Minglish input method is to type Marathi using Latin alpha-bates.However there are existing mim layouts are available though each layout has few problems. e.g to type word "anish" in Marathi using phonetic input method one has to type sequence as "FniS" while with itrans input method one has to type "anisha". In given example user often expects "अनिश" to be appear with keystrokes "anish". In India, people who have familiar with English language tend to type Marathi letters upon English letter pronunciation, that is why we have new term http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hinglish.

Benefit to Fedora

Easy,flexible and Speed:

With minglish input method keys are mapped according to English phonetic sound,so people who already familiar with English language find easy to type. In Marathi language one type characters such as भ using "bha" or B, so it gives users choice and flexibility. Users often find difficult to type complex words in Marathi language to solve this problem half key sequences are located on ALTGR key.In itrans input method half key sequences gets selected ad default and users need to type extra key to form complete character. However half characters are needed only in case of formation of complex words.
