This page documents common bugs in Fedora 33 and, if available, fixes or workarounds for these problems. If you find your problem in this page, do not file a bug for it, unless otherwise instructed. Where appropriate, a reference to the current bug(s) in Bugzilla is included.
Fedora 33 has not yet been released. During this pre-release period, this page will cover known issues in the Fedora 33 pre-releases. Issues that are fixed will be removed from the page once a fix is available (for instance, an issue that affects the Beta but is fixed in the final release will be removed at the time of that release).

My bug is not listed
Not every bug is listed in this page, but Bugzilla should be a comprehensive database of known bugs. This page is a sampling of the bugs most commonly discussed on our mailing lists and forums.
To see if your bug has already been reported, you can search Bugzilla. If it has not yet been reported, we encourage you to do so to help improve Fedora for yourself and others. A guide to Bugs and feature requests has been prepared to assist you.
If you believe an already-reported bug report should be added to this page because it is commonly encountered, you can:
- Add it yourself, if you have wiki access. Common bugs instructions provides guidance on how to add an entry to the page correctly, but the most important thing is to make sure that the bug is listed - don't worry if you don't get the format quite right, we can clean it up later.
- Or, add the CommonBugs keyword to the bug report. Someone from the QA team will then inspect the issue to determine whether the bug should be listed as a common bug. To expedite your request, please add a comment to the bug that includes
- a summary of the problem
- any known workarounds
- an assessment on the impact to Fedora users

Installation issues
Switching keyboard layout by Anaconda does not work in mutter (Wayland)

The graphical version of Anaconda runs on Wayland in Fedora Workstation Live image, which causes a situation that the keyboard layouts cannot be switched using a key combo (usually alt+shift). This will happen on system where more keyboard layouts have been added to the system.
The layouts can be switched by using the layout indicator in the upper right corner of the screen.
ValueError: Size limit for minimal size cannot be greater than current maximum size.

This issues causes Anaconda to crash when Blivet-GUI is used to add a new BIOS Boot partition. When BIOS Boot is selected and the user attempts to change the type of the partition, Anaconda crashes.
To avoid this issue, when BIOS Boot is selected cancel the operation and start over. Other choices seem not to be affected.
Server issues
FreeIPA server doesn't get along well with systemd-resolved

In this version of Fedora, systemd-resolved is installed and enabled by default (see https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/systemd-resolved). FreeIPA servers do not work well with systemd-resolved. During the replica deployment the master server cannot resolve the hostname of the replica correctly.
To workaround, manually disable systemd-resolved for FreeIPA to work as expected.
ostree issues
rpm-ostree rebase fails when using aarch64 disk images

Attempting to rebase an Fedora 32 IoT disk image to F33 does not succeed and the system reboots back into F32.
Desktop issues
login stuck when changing users repeatedly (log out, log in a different one)

On Fedora 33 KDE, the login screen can freeze when users log in and out repetitively in a sequence.
The reason why this is happening is unclear at the moment. To prevent the issue from happening, try to avoid logging out and logging in too quickly. When logging out from a user account, wait some time before you try to log in again.
Outdated Firefox is going to be shipped in the Fedora 33 Beta

The Beta RC 1.3 ISO file includes an outdated version of Firefox, i.e. version 78.0. Currently, Fedora 32 has a newer version (81.0) which in certain cases when upgrading to the Beta RC 1.3 packages might lead to downgrading the Firefox version and to damaging your Firefox user profile.
To avoid this, only upgrade to F33 using the official online repositories that should already contain the newer Firefox version. Also, consider backing up your Firefox user profile data that resides in /home/<username>/.mozilla.
Select Printer Driver hangs

When trying to add or modify a printer using Gnome Settings, the dialogue window to select printer drivers becomes unresponsive and does not show any available drivers for the selected printer brand. The Cancel button becomes unresponsive, too, and the only way to dismiss the dialogue window is to click on the X icon. Due to this issue, no printer cannot be added or modified correctly using Gnome Settings.
To workaround this situation, use a PPD file for your printer (see http://www.openprinting.org to search for it). The dialogue window works fine for PPD file additions. Alternatively, you can add and modify printers using the CUPS web interface. To use it, navigate to http://localhost:631.
Abrt suffers from several issues that prevent its correct usage
Currently, there are several issues that prevent Abrt from being correctly used to retrace and report errors both locally and remotely, such as:

Firefox not using langpacks for localization

Sometimes, Firefox does not respect the default system locale and only displays English.
Some users reported a workaround. Point Firefox to file:///lib64/firefox/langpacks/ and manually install the language pack of your choice. Then restart Firefox to load the new language settings.
Documents preview doesn't work with Nautilus

In Nautilus, a media preview can be invoked by hitting the Space key while a media file is focused. This only works with certain type of media (text documents, pictures) and does not work with others (mp3, ogg).
