Introduction

The Design Suite is a project in progress to make a Remix (eventually a Spin) targeted towards professional designers, specifically the Fedora Design Team.

The latest image is available at http://www.wuala.com/sdziallas/fedora. (This is a very temporary hosting solution.) This is a work in progress - although it has worked in a VM, it is not finished and may break.

Design concepts

This section needs to be filled out.

What are the design concepts we've agreed on for this? Possible examples include:

select 'best of breed' apps vs "include as much as possible"
restrict to graphics vs also go for audio/video
include data vs not including data

Based on: Fedora 13
Size: CD size? 2GB USB sticks?

Fonts

There are MANY MANY MANY fonts that I think we could include but aren't yet packaged in Fedora. Check out Máirín's font study.
Fedora Packaging Guidelines require that if a font source is available, then we build from that font source. Something to keep in mind. Link to the relevant section of the packaging guidelines.
Please check out the font wishlist to check and add new font packaging requests.

Fonts in Fedora
The Fonts SIG takes loving care of Fedora fonts. Please join this special interest group if you are interested in creating, improving, packaging, or just suggesting a font. Any help will be appreciated.

Clip Art

I think a hand-picked selection of some clip art from [openclipart.org would be great to include on disc. Maybe we could get some from here too: [http://www.wpclipart.com/ .

Gimp

Brushes

A lot of the great Gimp Brushes out there aren't explicitly licensed, which can be an issue. Also, if they are licensed Creative Commons, are there any Creative Commons licenses that would make it okay to distribute this type of content in a Fedora spin?
