Content Specifications ("Content specs") are information architecture designs. Creating a Content Specification before starting writing allows you to focus on and sort out the bigger picture before diving down to the detailed level of writing actual content. Content specifications can be used to scope and estimate the effort required for work, and to divide a larger work into smaller pieces that can be executed by different persons.
