* Please briefly describe your history with Fedora:
* Please briefly describe your history with Fedora.
** Fedora User since the first Fedora Core released (Red Hat Linux user, before that).
* What are your particular goals related to FAmSCo?
** Fedora Contributor since 2009.
** Initialized and maintained the first Fedora mirror in Vietnam: http://virror.hanoilug.org/#fedora since 2009.
** Organized a lot of Fedora Release Parties around the country since Fedora 11 (that's also one of three best Fedora 11 release parties worldwide: http://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-ambassadors-list/2009-August/msg00151.html).
** Founded Fedora Vietnam community with dedicated community website and mailing list since 2010.
** Co-chaired/Co-organized Fedora Ambassadors APAC bi-weekly meeting since 2010.
** Fedora package maintainer for two years.
** Present Fedora at a lot of FOSS and Tech events.

* Why do you want to be a member of FAmSCo?:
** Improve collaboration inside Ambassadors group as well as between Ambassadors and others, following things like these: http://lists.fedoraproject.org/pipermail/ambassadors/2011-October/018319.html .

* What is the proper role for FAmSCo in a global project like Ambassadors?:
Questionnaire
** Coordinate ambassadors in regions and countries.
* Question1?
** Support ambassadors to run their own events and other activities.
** Answer1
** Coordinate with Fedora leadership and CommArch for budget and reimbursement.

* What are your particular goals related to FAmSCo?:
Jiri Eischmann (sesivany)
** Connect ambassadors among countries and regions better; support local ambassadors to make regional meetings more effective (e.g. more people involved, more effective discussions, faster from thoughts to actions, etc.).
** Make budget budget/fund review, approval, usage and reimbursement faster and more effective.

* What would you change about the way Ambassadors is run?:
Introduction
** Run more FADs, Fedora release parties, etc. to introduce more about Fedora to people and to share knowledge and experience among Fedora users and contributors as well.

Alejandro Pérez (Aeperezt)
* Please briefly describe your history with Fedora:
** Although my history with Fedora started just at the beginning of 2011 I've been involved in Linux communities much longer (since ~2004). Because I work as a community manager for Red Hat Czech I spend on Fedora-related stuff most of my time. I've organized many open source events including DevConf.cz or GUADEC 2013.
** I'm an ambassador for the Czech Republic and have been chairing regional ambassador meetings since summer 2012.
** I produce and distribute media and most of swag for EMEA. I'm also a treasurer who is responsible for the EMEA regional budget.
** I've been a FAmSCo member since June 2012 and its chair since December 2012.

* What are your particular goals related to FAmSCo?
** The governance reform FAmSCo has done in the last two terms has moved a lot of power to the regions, closer to contributors. While it brings a big opportunity, it's also a big challenge. I think the main goal for FAmSCo in the next term will be helping the regions to cope with the new situation and making sure everything works as intended.
** The reform has freed FAmSCo from day-to-day requests, so it can focus on what it's supposed to do - to steer the ambassadors project. So FAmSCo should focus on making the project more attractive to newcomers, asking questions such as what kind of ambassadors are we looking for etc.
** Fedora Ambassadors shouldn't be a standalone project within Fedora Project. We should closely cooperate with other teams and contributors. FamSCo should be an active participant in inter-team projects and a good partner to others.

** I started contributing to Fedora in 2011 but I'm involved in Fedora since 2005, when i founded the italian Fedora community http://it.fedoracommunity.org/
** Fedora user since version 1b (previously RHL user 8 and 9).
** In 2008 I wrote (with mailga) a manual about Fedora 9, containing 230 pages and reaching a discreet success on the italian market.
** I'm an ambassador for Italy and mentor for EMEA.
** I'm also part of the websites team, where I'm quite active, contributing also on a better workflow of all our pages.
** I organized a few small Pizza events for the italian community website users already before contributing to the fedoraproject.
** Actually I'm chairing the Italian bi-weekly IRC meeting on #fedora-it.

** Fedora User since Fedora Core , Linux User since 1994, Slackware, Red Hat and others
* What are your particular goals related to FAmSCo?
** Fedora Contributor since 2009
** A lot of work has been done by FAmSCo during the last year, now it's important to continue and finalize all this good work.
** Organize Fedora Panama Community
** Having several years of direct experience in managing a local community (end users), I'm convinced we can do much more for this particular channel. Having stronger local communities means having more users and, if local communities are well organized, this also means more contributors. Local communities may therefore follow some helpful guidelines.
** Fedora Translator
** FAmSCo can help to reactivate inactive ambassadors, our evergreen topic...most of the inactive ambassadors are standalone, they don't contribute to other groups. Ambassadors who contribute also in other teams remain much more active than those who don't.
** Fedora Packager
** The single Regions have much more power (and responsability) than before, organization of budgets and events therefore is becoming very important. FADs are really useful for this purpose, but I think it would be also fine to have a webpage where Fedora users and contributors can easily find events, local communities etc, instead of having a wiki page and 2 websites for the same function. Fedocal is a first step in this direction.
** Ruby SIG
** FudCon Panama main organizer 2011

** FAD to improve Latam contribution to Fedora.
** Ambassador since 2007

** FESCo member from 2009 to 2011
Elad Alassa (elad)
** Current FAmSCo member
Introduction
** Hosting various IRC meetings (together with Jiri)
** Active in swag production and media distribution in EMEA (together with Jiri)
** Event organizer for various events

* Please briefly describe your history with Fedora.
** Started using Linux around 4 years ago, Fedora was my first distribution of choice and I found it better than any other.
** I'm a packager, translator, designer, website team member and ambassador. Apart from that I also triage bugs with my free time, submit patches to upstream projects now and then, and I try to make Fedora as easy to use as possible, wherever I can influence that.
* Why do you want to be a member of FAmSCo?
** I want Fedora to be better, and to do that we need good collaboration between the different teams in the project and make sure everything will run as smoothly as possible. I hope that by being a member of FAmSCo I could help achieve this goal.
* What is the proper role for FAmSCo in a global project like Ambassadors?
** Coordinate the different groups and make sure everything is running as smoothly as possible.
* What are your particular goals related to FAmSCo?
* What are your particular goals related to FAmSCo?
** Make it easier for new ambassadors to join, mostly by making more responsible people sponsors, so that the waiting time to get sponsored into the Ambassadors project will be lower.
** Over the past 1 - 2 years, FAmSCo has changed a lot of it's policies, mainly the election guidelines and the workflow for sponsoring and reimbursing event attendees. We have improved a lot, but I feel we also have created too much bureaucracy. I want to to reduce the red tape to a bare minimum. I want to enable contributors to do what they like most in Fedora, not to make them run in circles to follow our policies.
* What would you change about the way Ambassadors is run?
** We have given more power to the regional communities. This is a huge improvement but also raises some problems. I want to get back to a more meritocratic approach while preserving the newly gained power of the regions.
** Mostly, I would like to have a Fedora Events web app for ambassadors to use to organize events (incl. swag and budget requests, list of volunteers, and information for users).
** On the Red Hat side, there was the transition from Community Architecture to OSAS. Many things that worked well in the past no longer work. I want to work with OSAS people to fix this.
** Regional communities are now in charge of their budget. This has worked well for some, but not so well for others. I want to improve budget planing and make sure that the regions really get all the money they need.
** I want to improve controlling. In order to draft a reliable budget for next year, we need to know how much money we spend and how much is left. At any given point in time and without having to ask OSAS.
** We need more for ambassadors. Most of that information is in the wiki, but we need to make sure it is easy to find and to follow. No red tape but cleaning up and consolidating what we already have.

* Please briefly describe your history with Fedora.
** I started with Free Media group and then joined with the Ambassador group. Since then I am contributing to Design Team, Marketing Team, News,Summer coding and Localization work as well.
** Fedora contributor since 2011.
** Locally, I have organized some events including release parties and fedora events. I represent the Fedora project in events and initiated the fedora local communityLK_Community.
** Fedora Ambassador since 2011.
** I expanded the Fedora project in University level locally, that makes the local community stronger and also working with APAC ambassadors towards a strong community by assisting them.
** Fedora Latam Mentor.
** I manage APAC Bi-weekly meetings with David and Tuan.
** I´m active member of the community.
** I wrangle fedora-apac trac and facilitate fellow FAms in the region.
** I worked on the organization of some community events.
** Elected as a member of FAmSCo for F18 cycle.
** I worked in the organization of FUDCon Panama in 2011 with Alejandro Perez (aeperezt) and Abdel Martinez (Potty).

* What are your particular goals related to FAmSCo?
** Create Fedoras Communities in universities, finding more partners to this great community, "This is not impossible".
** Forms to encourage ambassadors to work with other groups in the community.
** I want to improve the issue of reimbursement for countries that do not have an adequate system for this. Many ways to make the reimbursement and just tell them to not is possible. (no close the doors for them and otherwise support).
** Continue improvement plan of budgets and others issues of the region.
** Maintain and strive to improve the organization we already have in Fedora.
** I want to leave that bit and give my best to support all regions in every way possible and try to improve any process which can be improved. Always listening the ideas of others that are part of this team.

* Why do you want to be a member of FAmSCo?:
Wolnei Junior
I hope I did manage F18 term in FAmSCo and I would like to keep it up by trying to achieve following vision;
** FAmSCo is playing a major role with in the Ambassador Group, indeed they set the path to proceed.
** First, the main aim is to support the Ambassador Group.
** I need to provide a dedicated, effective support which Ambassadors need.
** I would like to be a part of the team and be an active part of decision making process which lead shaping the project.
** Further I want to make the FAmSCo, a place which is more attentive, sensitive, responsive and assisted to ambassadors and their needs.

* What is the proper role for FAmSCo in a global project like Ambassadors?:
Introduction
** The main role of the FAmSCo is to provide the support that Ambassadors seek. The support should be fast and it should be effective. Such a support keeps the global ambassador effect active and useful. Therefore FAmSCo as the hub, should provide assistant and resources and ensure the ambassadors are getting what they need, when they need. Being align with the team is another very important role that FAmSCo should play. FAmSCo should be very sensitive with the ambassadors. Should identify their needs, ideas, thoughts and try to facilitate, encourage and even try to get novel ideas to shape the team and as well as the project. FAmSCo govern the ambassador team and as well as act as the central hub which connects other entities as well.

* What are your particular goals related to FAmSCo?:
* Please briefly describe your history with Fedora.
** As a candidate it is easier for you if I mention my vision clearly, that shows mainly How I see and What I ll do as a member of the FAmSCo if I am elected.
** Fedora user since 2006.
** FAmSCo should be responsive/ sensitive to needs and issues with in FAms.
** Fedora Ambassador since 2008.
** FAmSCo should be attentive.
** Currently participate in other projects such as artwork, freemedia, testing, spins, and I´m one of the most active member of the Fedora Project in Brazil.
** FAmSCo should be motivational.
** Develop the regions country wise.

* What would you change about the way Ambassadors is run?:
* What are your particular goals related to FAmSCo?
** Overall the ambassador group is running well. There are few things we need to make up.
** Active Ambassador - Clearly define and precisely those who would, valuing their work instead of the "red tape" or self promoting, respecting guidelines and true vocation as an ambassador to promote Fedora.
** More interaction is needed with in the group, so that we can encourage the ambassadors to participate to meetings and the FAmSCo can help them to make the meeting successful being actively engaging with those.
** Event attendees - In larger events, target more different people each edition accompanied by few with experience. For example: an ambassador who attended a big event in the previous year, the following year would rather not repeat it but would to another great event that has not yet participated, so we would have more ambassadors with experience in both international events and how the larger national events. Fortifying the name of the community, instead of just the same name to be remembered.
** It is required to develop and make strong the fedora communities countrywide, it is possible to use FADs (more FADs) for that and later when we have strong communities so we can have FUDCons in various countries with in regions covering most of the parts.
** Mentoring - Monitor plus new ambassadors to were not "lost" at the beginning, always seeking their permanence and development. Encouraging them to participate in other projects, being the Ambassador program a gateway and not their end.
** Increase quality on FAm activities (events, funding, reporting, guidelines, active participation, encourage FAms, more goal oriented..)
** Redeem pleased to contribute to instead of "obligation" to be natural and rewarding. In line with our slogans: Freedom, Friends, Features, First.
** Sponsoring - Simplification, transparency and plainly anticipated to be used in order to cover the maximum possible potential. Example: Production of media and other reusable materials every version - CDRWs, DVDRWs or pendrives.
** Thereby diminish the projects "one man", being another contributor responsible for having all permissions needed to develop that project.

  • What are your particular goals related to FAmSCo?
    • Active Ambassador - Clearly define and precisely those who would, valuing their work instead of the "red tape" or self promoting, respecting guidelines and true vocation as an ambassador to promote Fedora.
    • Event attendees - In larger events, target more different people each edition accompanied by few with experience. For example: an ambassador who attended a big event in the previous year, the following year would rather not repeat it but would to another great event that has not yet participated, so we would have more ambassadors with experience in both international events and how the larger national events. Fortifying the name of the community, instead of just the same name to be remembered.
    • Mentoring - Monitor plus new ambassadors to were not "lost" at the beginning, always seeking their permanence and development. Encouraging them to participate in other projects, being the Ambassador program a gateway and not their end.
    • Redeem pleased to contribute to instead of "obligation" to be natural and rewarding. In line with our slogans: Freedom, Friends, Features, First.
    • Sponsoring - Simplification, transparency and plainly anticipated to be used in order to cover the maximum possible potential. Example: Production of media and other reusable materials every version - CDRWs, DVDRWs or pendrives.
    • Thereby diminish the projects "one man", being another contributor responsible for having all permissions needed to develop that project.
