Release Notes Translations Updated for Polish, Portuguese and Simplified Chinese
Translation Credit Loss Problem Resolved
A major issue related to the loss of Translator Credits in modules submitted via transifex.net has been resolved by the Transifex development team. The problem had also been escalated to the Fedora Legal team.

Translations for Polish, Portuguese and Simplified Chinese have been rebuilt and updated in docs.fedoraproject.org by Ruediger Landmann.

Errors in Release Notes for Chinese and German
Autotranslate Feature Disabled for Fedora Modules on Transifex
John J. McDonough reported tag related errors for Traditional & Simplified Chinese and German translations of the Fedora 12 Release Notes. These errors were identified during the nightlt builds of the documents. The German translation error was fixed by Jens Maucher, while the tag errors in the Chinese translations were fixed temporarily by Ruediger Landmann.
The Autotranslate feature on transifex.net has been disabled for Fedora modules in view of a possible conflict with the Terms of Usage of the Google Translated API that was being used for the feature.

Additionaly, John J. McDonough also mentioned that some sections of the translated versions of the Release Notes do not display the translated content in the built documents, inspite of the translations being present in the .po file. Rudi clarified that this is a known issue and often occurs when translated .po files  are split and merged with the individual component files as required by Publican.

FPCA Signing on Transifex.net
Error in Package Name in the Fedora 12 Release Notes
All participants to the Fedora Localization Project are required to sign the Fedora Project Contributor Agreement (FPCA) at https://www.transifex.net/projects/p/fedora/cla/ in addition to signing it on the Fedora Account System

The name of the multimedia-menus package was transcribed as 'multimedia menus' in the original english version of the Fedora 12 Release Notes that was handed to the Fedora Translation teams. As a result, this was translated into many languages. The maintainer of 'multimedia-menus' Orcan Ogetbill brought forward this issue.
The last date to sign the FPCA is June 17th 2011

SSSD and MC Translation Request
Fedora Documentation and Websites missing for F15
Translation requests have been made to the Fedora Localization Project by the maintainers of System Security Services Daemon (SSSD) and Midnight Commander (MC). The former is hosted at www.transifex.net to accept translations, since the upstream project requires all patches (inlcuding translations) to be reviewed by the repository validators. SSSD would be string frozen on the 23rd of November 2009.
A number of Fedora Documentation modules and Fedora Websites modules were not available for translation for Fedora 15 as they could not be migrated to transifex.net before the release. However, translation can be continued for some of these modules which are being gradually migrated by the writers to transifex.net.

Midnight Commander currently uses some parts of the Gnome Infrastruture, but uses its own git repository. Suggestions to allow easier translation submissions, include that the  project be listed at translate.fedoraproject.org under 'various', hosted on www.transifex.net or be moved to git.gnome.org.

Translation

This section covers the news surrounding the Fedora Translation (L10n) Project[1].

Contributing Writer: Runa Bhattacharjee

Translation Credit Loss Problem Resolved

A major issue related to the loss[1] of Translator Credits in modules submitted via transifex.net has been resolved by the Transifex development team[2]. The problem had also been escalated to the Fedora Legal team[3][4].

Autotranslate Feature Disabled for Fedora Modules on Transifex

The Autotranslate feature on transifex.net has been disabled for Fedora modules in view of a possible conflict with the Terms of Usage of the Google Translated API that was being used for the feature[1].

FPCA Signing on Transifex.net

All participants to the Fedora Localization Project are required to sign[1] the Fedora Project Contributor Agreement (FPCA) at https://www.transifex.net/projects/p/fedora/cla/ in addition to signing it on the Fedora Account System[2]

The last date to sign the FPCA is June 17th 2011

Fedora Documentation and Websites missing for F15

A number of Fedora Documentation modules[1] and Fedora Websites[2] modules were not available for translation for Fedora 15 as they could not be migrated to transifex.net before the release. However, translation can be continued for some of these modules which are being gradually migrated by the writers to transifex.net.

New Members and Teams in FLP

Cindy Ludwig (German)[1], Hung Tran (Vietnamese)[2], Tarun Kumar (Hindi)[3], Anurag Garg (Hindi)[4], Hugo Jiménez Hernández (Spanish)[5], Goran Rakic (Serbian)[6], Nuno Martins (Portuguese)[7], Ricardo Gyorfy (Brazilian Portuguese)[8], Ivan Pomykacz (Czech) [9], Roman Spirgi (German)[10], Florian Masuth (German)[11] joined the Fedora Localization Project recently.
