This is a page that describes policies of the Fedora Project.
For policy pages, accuracy and clarity are important. You are encouraged to edit the wiki to improve it. If you have any substantive changes to make to this page, use the talk page to discuss the changes with other page maintainers. Do this before making the changes.

Deleting a wiki page is a commonly asked action of the wiki czar. He has determined a policy on how to delete wiki pages.

Acceptable deletion reasons

These are the only reasons for deleting a page on the Fedora wiki.

  • Confidential information has been disclosed on a new page
  • Licensing issues
  • The page is in the User: namespace under your own user page
  • The page represents your user page, is in the User: namespace, but isn't your FAS name

Acceptable alternatives to deletion

If you do not fall under the reasons above, you may choose one of these alternatives:

What if I moved my stuff to Fedora Hosted?

Change the content of the page to "The content of this page has been moved to [http://fedorahosted.org/blah Fedora Hosted]."

Getting a page deleted

Create a new ticket in the Fedora Wiki ticket system with the component "Deletion". Be sure to fill in the "Wiki page" field.
