Mailing lists
We have a mailing-list fedora-haskell-list  (archives ), since 13 Feb 2008.
We have two mailing-lists:

* haskell (archives) for general discussion
* haskell-devel (archives) for bugzilla traffic.

We support most of the Haskell Platform project, although we do not yet have an all-inclusive umbrella package yet that pulls in every Haskell package required by the Platform specification.
Please see the Haskell Platform page for more information about Fedora's Haskell Platform support.

Detailed package information can be found on the Fedora Packages page.
Currently missing haskell-platform-2009.2.0.2 packages, with links to their review requests:
* cgi
* (network-2.2.1.4)
* (time-1.1.2.4)
* fgl (reviewed, waiting to be built)

Installing the Haskell Platform
Here's how you can install most of the Platform from the command line:

sudo yum -y install \
  alex \
  cabal-install \
  ghc \
  ghc-GLUT-devel \
  ghc-HTTP-devel \
  ghc-OpenGL-devel \
  ghc-editline-devel \
  ghc-zlib-devel \

* update docsbeat for f12
* help improve <code>FedoraReview/plugins/haskell.py</code>
* package haskell-platform
* Changes/YesodWebFramework
* build ghc for EPEL
* docsbeat
* have a SIG meeting on IRC
* update GHC_Update_SOP when bootstrapping ghc-7.8
* move bugzilla to a separate mailing-list?
* submit Haskell_Spin to Spins SIG?
* pkgkit extension for cabal-install
* package test packages (hspec, etc)
* update cabal2spec/haskell to latest templates
* repoquery wrapper for (reverse-)dependencies
* Haskell_Spin submitted to Spins SIG
* cabal-rpm: version sensitivity
* autogeneration of packages for a "testing" repository of autogenerated all-of-hackage. Pull from this (with a human eye) to make Fedora packages.
* automate rebuilds in koji or mock-build (see rebuild scripts in fedora-haskell-tools.git)
* Bootstrap ghc on ppc64 (bug 239713 ) and ia64
* Enable %check sections for packages that have tests available
* Better tool to check for dependency breakage for version updates: fhbz, packdeps reverse and cblrepo exist
* Automatically updated package dependency graphs.
* Continuous build integration to automate build testing (see upstream stackage project)
* Koji supports maven now. It could have support for cabal as well.

Packaging
Packaging
We have the Haskell Packaging Guidelines in place with template .spec files for libraries and programs. Please use them when submitting Haskell packages for review. cabal2spec generates .spec files from cabal packages using up to date templates.  After a package has been accepted please remember to include <code>haskell-sig</code> in the CVS Admin Request.
New Package Process
* Please use cabal-rpm (which replaced cabal2spec) to generate packages for submitting a package review request.
** It should follow the current Haskell Packaging Guidelines.
* You can use <code>cabal-rpm diff</code> when reviewing packages to check differences from the templates.
* Please include haskell-sig in the InitialCC field of Package_SCM_admin_requests.
* New packages (not starting with <code>ghc-*</code>) need to be added to Upstream_release_monitoring.

Mission

The mission of the Haskell Special Interest Group is to maintain, grow, and guide the packaging of Haskell projects in Fedora.

Communication

Mailing lists

We have two mailing-lists:

IRC

We have an #fedora-haskell[?] channel on freenode.net .

Updates

Follow us on Twitter.

Haskell Platform support

 • F22 has ghc-7.8.4 and patched haskell-platform-2014.2.0.0
 • F20 and F21 have ghc-7.6.3 and haskell-platform-2013.2.0.0
 • EPEL7 has ghc-7.6.3 and haskell-platform-2013.2.0.0
 • EPEL6 has ghc-7.0.4 and haskell-platform-2011.4.0.0
 • EPEL5 has ghc-7.0.4

Please see the Haskell Platform page for more information about Fedora's Haskell Platform support. Detailed package information can be found on the Fedora Packages page.

Tasks

 • help improve FedoraReview/plugins/haskell.py
 • Changes/YesodWebFramework
 • docsbeat
 • update GHC_Update_SOP when bootstrapping ghc-7.8
 • submit Haskell_Spin to Spins SIG?
 • package test packages (hspec, etc)
 • repoquery wrapper for (reverse-)dependencies
 • cabal-rpm: version sensitivity
 • automate rebuilds in koji or mock-build (see rebuild scripts in fedora-haskell-tools.git)
 • Enable %check sections for packages that have tests available
 • Better tool to check for dependency breakage for version updates: fhbz, packdeps reverse and cblrepo exist
 • Automatically updated package dependency graphs.
 • Continuous build integration to automate build testing (see upstream stackage project)
 • Koji supports maven now. It could have support for cabal as well.
