Aggiunto a Fedora supporto per il S.O. desktop Moblin™ 2.0 usato su sistemi NetBook/NetTop/MID.

Download e Installazione

Per ora esistono due modi per ottenere Fedora Moblin:

Scaricando il LiveCD Fedora Moblin beta 7, se si vuole testare/installare Moblin.
Usando yum groupinstall moblin-desktop, se si sta usando Fedora 12.

Si prega di fornire feeback alle mailing list di fedora-test o fedora-devel, e riportare bug in RHBZ.

Descrizione dettagliata

L'architettura Moblin è stata progettata per supportare piattaforme e modelli multipli che vanno dai Netbook e NetTop ai Mobile Internet Device (MID) ai vari modelli embedded come i sistemi In Vehicle Infotainment. L'architettura è costruita sul componente centrale denominato Moblin Core. Moblin Core si basa sulla piattaforma GNOME Mobile, di cui estende ed arricchische le caratteristiche con nuove tecnologie come Clutter, GUPnP e mojito. Moblin Core fornisce il proprio ambiente desktop per funzionare in Fedora, oltre a interfacce utente e modelli d'interazione utente specifiche per i vari dispositivi.

Vantaggi per Fedora

La release corrente di Fedora ha GUI che non sono ottimizzati per gli ambienti a schermo piccolo di NetBook e dipositivi MID. Questo progetto consentirà di risolvere questo inconveniente, vista la sempre più alta disponibilità di tali dispositivi anche in fascia economica medio/bassa.
