State of the kernel in Fedora 9

Dave will give a status report of the Fedora kernel, covering how things are looking in the updates for Fedora 7 & 8, and how things are shaping up for Fedora 9. There will also be discussion on testing, and bug traige from a kernel perspective.

Dave Jones. Where to begin? Everything hazy pre-2000, but I got involved in Linux circa 97, and wrote my first kernel patch within a few weeks of installing Linux and learning C. Worked for SuSE from 2000-2002 on various kernel related things, and then moved to Red Hat where I've been Fedora kernel maintainer (and RHEL4 kernel maintainer for a while).
