Description

Building freestyle project in Jenkins.

Setup

  1. ensure that the Jenkins is running

How to test

  1. open http://localhost:8080 in your web browser
  2. click "New item"
  3. enter name for a new item: "project1"
  4. choose "Freestyle project" type
  5. click "OK"
  6. in "Build" section, choose "Execute Shell" from "Add build step" drop-down menu
  7. paste 'echo "Build successful!"' into a newly created textarea
  8. click "Save"
  9. click "Build Now"

Expected Results

  1. you should see a new entry in "Build history"
  2. the ball representing status of the last build should be blue
    • blue means success in Jenkins
  3. clicking on the ball should show console output from given build:
