The guidelines on this page could benefit from using macros. Based on a cursory examination of available packages, it seems the most common (and least-incorrect) practice in contemporary Fedoras is to use %{prefix}/lib/mono to specify the Mono directory, although I found several extant alternatives (including per-package definitions of %{monodir} and hardcoded paths).
