Written by: Mustafa Qasim

IRC Premier

This premier is aimed at making Fedora Pakistan's new members familiarize with the communication platform commonly used by Fedora Project community and that's Internet Relay Chat (IRC). It's meant to be a kick start guide. If you've never used IRC before then you are the expected audience.

IRC Client

Client is a software which is used to connect with IRC servers and join chat forums known as Channels. Chose and download an IRC client to get started with this guide. I've mentioned some clients below or you can search it yourself.

Platform Independent

  • Pidgin is a multi platform IM messaging client. It supports many other protocols beside IRC.
  • Chatzilla is a Mozilla Firefox addon for IRC.
  • Mibbit is a web based IRC application.
  • Freenode Java is a Java applet based IRC client.
  • Gogloom is a web based chat software which support IRC.

Linux
