Description
This test case covers adding, configuring and removing KDE 4 Plasma Widgets (Plasmoids) from KDE 4 Workspace. Also covers installing and uninstalling plasmoids from "Get Hot New Stuff" repository.
Setup
Boot Fedora to KDE4 desktop. Ensure that you are connected to the Internet.
How to test
- Adding plasmoids
- Click on "Desktop" icon at top-right corner, choose "Add Widgets".
- From list of plasmoids add one plasmoid to workspace. Simply dubble-click on the plasmoid or drag it onto workspace.
- Randomly add more plasmoids to workspace, at least three more. You can search for plasmoids and choose them from "Categories".
- Configuring plasmoids
- Move mouse cursor on plasmoid and click and hold "rectangle" icon which appered on the side of plasmoid. Still holding, move the cursor.
- Move mouse cursor on plasmoid and click on "wrench tool" icon.
- Test various plasmoids configurations you like.
- Removing plasmoids
- Right-click on any plasmoid located on workspace and choose "Remove this ..."
- Continue with other plasmoids.
- Installing plasmoids from "Get Hot New Stuff" repository.
- Click on "Desktop" icon at top-right corner, choose "Add Widgets".
- Click on "Get New Widgets..." icon and select "Download New Plasma Widgets".
- Try search random plasmoid using search bar.
- Click on "Details" of randomly selected plasmoid.
- Click on "Install" to install it.
- Choose "Back" and search for another plasmoids.
- Randomly install more plasmoids, at least three more.
- Add all your newly installed plasmoids onto workspace as you did with previous plasmoids. You can search for them.
- Uninstalling plasmoids installed from "Get Hot New Stuff" repository.
- Click on "Desktop" icon at top-right corner, choose "Add Widgets".
- Click on "Get New Widgets..." icon and select "Download New Plasma Widgets".
- Select "Installed" from "Order by:" list.
- Click on "Uninstall" and uninstall all newly installed plasmoids.
Expected Results
- Adding plasmoids
- List of plasmoids should appear.
- Plasmoid should be placed on workspace.
- You should see at least four plasmoids on workspace.
- Configuring plasmoids
- Plasmoid should change size as you move the cursor and should not crash.
- Configuration window should appear.
- Plasmoids should reflect configuration options and should not crash.
- Removing plasmoids
- Selected plasmoid should be removed from workspace.
- All user added plasmoids should be removed from workspace.
- Installing plasmoids from "Get Hot New Stuff" repository.
- List of plasmoids should appear.
- New window titled "Get Hot New Stuff - Plasma Desktop Shell" should appear.
- Multiple plasmoids should be in list.
- Check if plasmoid details is working properly, eg. showing images and links.
- Selected plasmoid should be successfully installed.
- Multiple plasmoids should be in list.
- All randomly selected plasmoids should be successfully installed.
- All newly installed plasmoids should be placed on workspace.
- Uninstalling plasmoids installed from "Get Hot New Stuff" repository.
- List of plasmoids should appear.
- New window titled "Get Hot New Stuff - Plasma Desktop Shell" should appear.
- All newly installed plasmoids should be in list.
- All user installed plasmoids should be successfully uninstalled.
