Description
Ensure that an image saved with Podman 4.9 can be loaded successfully in Podman 5.0.
Setup
A Fedora system with Podman 5.0 installed, and access to an image saved from Podman 4.9.
How to test
- On a system with Podman 4.9, save an image using
podman save -o <image-name>.tar <image-name>
. - Transfer the saved image to a system with Podman 5.0.
- Load the image on the Podman 5.0 system with
podman load -i <image-name>.tar
. - Verify the image is loaded by listing images with
podman images
.
Expected Results
- The image is saved without errors from Podman 4.9.
- Podman 5.0 loads the saved image successfully, with no errors.
- The loaded image appears in the image list and is usable for container creation.
