Test Plan
The Test Plan section could use some details on how the Fedora testers can confirm that NetBeans is working as intended. Here's what I did:
- Install
netbeans - Attempt to run the NetBeans IDE from the Applications/Programming menu.
Unfortunately it didn't run, saying: "Cannot find java. Please use the --jdkhome switch." Did I do something wrong, or is there a problem with the package?
A: The Bug465891 has been fixed in the release 10. Please, use the latest release of the NetBeans packages.
Java EE
On Fedora 10 the Java EE plugin is not listed by default in the 'Available' tab of the Tools->Plugins dialog, which prevents you from creating and working on J2EE/EJB projects.
If you switch to the 'Settings' tab of the plugins dialog, however, you can enable the 'NetBeans' repository (or 'Update Center' in NetBeans-speak). Now go back to the 'Available' tab and the Java EE module should now be present, and installing it will add the 'Enterprise' category in File->New Project, etc. It seems you'll also get some updates to various other modules you may have, which for some reason are not available via the default 'NetBeans for Fedora' repository.
A: The Update Center "NetBeans for Fedora" contains all(!) plugins available for the NetBeans 6.1, including the Java EE plugin requested by you. Probably, you have had a fault of access to the Java EE plugin due to temporary network issue.
