Personal Information
I'm 26 years old, living in Stuttgart, Germany. I've attended a school for commercial correspondence and am about to start an information management course, which will take me two years to finish. If everything works out as planned I'll go on to university after that. Apart from computers, I'm interested in languages - my main interests being Dutch and Norwegian at the moment, philosophy (Sartre, Camus, Foucault), sociology, anthropology...
Experience with computers
I got my first computer in 1988 (or '89...?) - a Schneider Amstrad, followed by an Atari ST one or two years later. I've progressed through a 286, 386 and a 486 on which I did my first programming in Pascal. I continued with Delphi (Object Pascal) on a Pentium II and it took me until I discovered Linux to get involved with C, C++ and Perl. Perl is what I'm probably best at, although I do enjoy C (in spite - or maybe because - of my lacking proficiency in the language). My first Linux distribution was SuSE in 2003, followed by Debian, Ubuntu and, finally, Fedora - the best move so far. :-)
Involvement in the Fedora Project
Being a rather new member of the Project, I hope that I'll be adding to this as time progresses. My main interests lie in the Documentation Project and internationalisation, as well as contributing to the Wiki. It took me some effort to finally do the step of what so many are talking about - giving something back to the community, but I think it is worthwhile, indeed.
