Thoughts about how to get people to change from Windows to Fedora

  • Give them FREE live CD's to play with
  • See that you are available when they have questions

Why Ubuntu scores better than Fedora (My thoughts)

  • Ubuntu focuses on new (M$ Windows) users more than Fedora with very usable LiveCD's and installations from within M$ Windows
  • Ubuntu has OpenOffice on the LiveCD's (It is a complete alternative for M$ Windows/Office)
  • Logo is more colourful and attractive + logo comes before the name
  • Ubuntu scores good by system administrators because of LTS versions (This gives Ubuntu extra ambassadors in enterprises)

Why Fedora should score better than Ubuntu

  • Homepage is in local language

Solutions

  • Distribute and promote Fedora LiveCD's as alternatives for a normal M$ environment (include OpenOffice)
  • Make "free media requests" work in an easy way
