Jon Masters

JonMasters is Chief ARM Architect at Red Hat, and ultimately responsible for all technical aspects of Red Hat's investments in ARM technology. Jon also works on certain RHEL features, internal tools, and upstream work on kernel driver infrastructure. He was historically involved with the Real Time (MRG) Red Hat product, and continues to track the Real Time kernel work upstream from time to time. Jon enjoys running, sailing, hiking, unicycling, making music, astronomy, writing books (including a current work in progress on Porting Linux to new architectures), and many other things.

Jon would like to see Fedora strive to achieve a balance between being a desktop-friendly modern Linux distribution and remaining true to its roots as a UNIX-like environment also suited to server use. This also means that he would like to see improvements in update policy, and a higher bar to entry for experimental features before they are released to a wider set of the user base (who are not guinea pigs).
