I'm a solid state physicist. I am developing a solid state physics java library for crystallography and electronic band structure calculations on a Fedora platform with eclipse. The library will be released under a GPL-v3.0 license. The one-electron band structure calculations are based on nearly free electron and tight binding models. The packages in the library are integrated with The Apache Commons Mathematics Library packages for numerical analysis and with the W3C SVG Java Language Binding packages for graphical output. The library will contain several command line applications and applets and frames for interactive GUI control.
