About Me:

I am 22 years old, and I live in Houston Texas. I currently am attending Lone Star College - North Harris for my Associate of Applied Sciences degree. Once I complete that degree I am going to transfer to the University of Houston where I plan to get my Bachelors in Computing Science.

In the Linux/GNU world I have been active for almost 6 years now, When I was a teen I received my first computer. It was just a custom built machine that a local computer shop made, It didn't have any special bells or whistles. I couldn't afford a copy of Windows XP at the time so I went in search of a free alternative: I found Linux. I started out with Debian, and stayed with that for about a year. I then moved to Ubuntu, and stuck with that for a while till I bought a netbook and started to work with Crunchbang Linux which I stayed with till about a year ago when I switched full time to Fedora.

Linux+ certified.

Activities within Fedora:

I am now a Fedora Ambassador.

Activities within GNU/Linux:

  • I have been very active on the Crunchbang Linux forums for a long time, helping where I can.
  • I am very active in my community trying to get the word of GNU/Linux and FOSS out their. I place homemade pamphlets around the college to let people know that their is a free alternative to Windows and Mac OS.
  • I have installed Linux on most of my family machines, and now I am the IT guy around my family. I am always having to help someone with something.
  • I worked for Hostgater, LLC for about 6 months as a Linux System Administrator, LV-1. I believe that this job has helped me develop my trouble-shooting skills and to become a better helper when needed.
