What is off-topic? Off-topic messages do not follow the topic for the mailing list they were posted to. For example, if you posted a question about using a particular program in a recent Fedora release to fedora-devel-list@redhat.com, that is off-topic. You should select a more appropriate mailing list for your message and post it there instead.

Below are some of the key mailing lists and their purposes. You can find more by visiting our Communicate page. There, you will also find information about other methods of communication, such as IRC.

If you have questions, you should also check some of the resources on the wiki before you ask them on the mailing lists. Many questions can be answered here. To get started browsing the wiki, visit the FedoraMain page.

It is often the starting-point for new Fedora users starting to interact with the community, and the place for everyone to ask questions and have general discussions about the use and configuration of software in Fedora.
