Fedora Contributor Recognition Program
This page outlines the process for nominating a fellow contributor in the Fedora community. A dedicated board of community members will review the nominations, and the top three contributors will receive an award during the Fedora Mentor Summit at Flock to Fedora.
Purpose
The goal of this program is to recognize and reward outstanding contributions in the Fedora community. By encouraging nominations from peers, we aim to highlight individuals whose work has had a meaningful impact on the project.
Eligibility
- Open to all Fedora contributors who have made significant contributions in last year.
- Self-nominations are not allowed.
- Eligible contribution areas include but are not limited to:
- Editing and Documentation - Content Creation/Marketing - Quality/Testing - Packaging/Development/Infra - Forum Moderation (Matrix and Discussions) - User Support (Ask/Join) - Community Outreach and Mentorship - Graphic Design and Multimedia - Other relevant contributions that benefit the Fedora community

Selection Process
A nomination board, consisting of senior Fedora mentors, will review all submitted nominations.
Evaluations will be based on:
- Impact: The scope and reach of your contributions.
- Quality: The excellence demonstrated in your work.
- Innovation: Creative approaches and initiatives that have driven change.
- Community Engagement: Your involvement and support within the Fedora community.
The board will vote on the nominations, and the top 3 contributors will be selected for the award.
Award Details
- Award winners will be announced at the Fedora Mentor Summit.
- Final decisions are at the discretion of the nomination board.
Timeline
- Nomination Submission Deadline: May 16, 2025
- Board Review Period: May 26, 2025
- Winner Announcement: Fedora Mentor Summit/Flock to Fedora 2025
Guidelines and Rules
- All nomination details must be complete and accurate.
- Incomplete or false information may lead to disqualification.
- Please avoid nominating someone solely because they are a good friend - focus on their actual impact and contributions.
- The nomination board reserves the right to make final decisions based on the information provided.
Adherence to Fedora community guidelines and Code of Conduct is mandatory.
