Fedora Linux 42 Release Party

The Fedora community will celebrate the release of Fedora Linux 42 with a virtual Release Party on 29 May 2025. For a few hours, Fedora contributors and leaders will speak about recent changes in Fedora Linux and the Fedora Project. Our global Release Parties are a great way to learn more about the latest Fedora Linux release and also an opportunity to get to know the Fedora contributors behind it all.

We hope you will join us in a celebration of our last six months and the people who make it possible!

Logistics

We will use Matrix for our main stage and event chat, and stream our sessions via Restream in our event room. Please join the room #f42-release party before the start time via your invite link. Registration (free!) is required to gain access to the event room. Registered attendees will receive an invite to the matrix room ahead of the event, and we will have staff on hand to provide invites if there are any complications with the link.

We have opted for this setup for this release party a number of reasons:

1. We don't have the right tools created or in place to get metrics from the matrix room yet. This is something we will look into for F43, but we will need some help from our engineers to figure out!

2. We hope this will deter any spam by making this a private room for event use only.
