Hummingbird Special Interest Group
Hummingbird is a container-native, rolling-release variant targeting open source and cloud native builders who value things like CI/CD, near zero CVEs, minimal size, distroless images (distributions still matter!!!), etc. It ships a wide variaty of language runtimes, build toolchains, and distroless OCI container images built from Fedora sources via the Hummingbird factory pipeline. This SIG governs the Hummingbird work, as we work toward contribution into the Fedora project (over time).
Project Hummingbird was announced at Red Hat Summit 2026
