Why does Fedora/SFVLUG wish to hold an event?
This event encourages the general community to learn what's new and exciting with this Fedora release.
A release celebrates code-completion for the 42nd final version of Fedora Linux.
It is quite fitting for Fedora/SFVLUG to hold a grand event with highly-spirited 42, meaning of life / meaning of Linux memes.
What is the focus of the event?
To provide general information about:
- Linux
- Fedora
- Why Use Fedora
- What's New in Fedora
- How to Get Started with Fedora
How does our attendance at this event build users of or contributors to specific Fedora solutions and why are those particular solutions strategically important?
Our enthusiasm in getting together to discuss this new software brings increasing interest to Fedora and Linux and allows us to give back to the open-source community.
How does our attendance at this event build users of or contributors to the Fedora platform's overall measured success?
Our outreach and networking fosters local awareness that Fedora brings utility and positive worth to our community.

Registration
Open registration, first come first serve. Cap at 15 for a possible Glendale makerspace location, 35 for a possible Burbank/West Hills makerspace location, and 200 for a Glendale library auditorium location.
What happens if a site isn't selected for a Release 42 Event?
Not to worry. After seeing some of the great sites and makerspaces here in the Valley, we may decide to hold future special events and/or field trips to the various sites; this has the added benefit of bringing awareness of your spaces to our technology community.
