The purpose of this smoke test is to get an early handle on testability for F18 beta.
Areas of Interest
What we're mostly interested in is features and components that could potentially cause a slip of the F18 beta release. Looking at the F18 beta release requirements as of the time of this page's writing (2012-09-24), those components and features are:
Media Creation
Features related to the creation of install/live media
Build DVD
- No issues with building smoketest1 DVD
Build LiveCD(s)
- Not attempted for ST1 yet - has been working for alpha and don't expect issues
Create USB media from DVD, netinstall and Live
- Not attempted with ST1 yet - has been working for alpha and don't expect issues
Installer Related
Potential issue-causing areas for F18 beta surrounding the installer.
Install using HTTP, FTP, NFS package sources
