About

Mwiza Simbeye is a lifelong serial entrepreneur, adventurer, and tech aficionado.
He is the Co-Founder and CEO of Microdot.
Mwiza he is yet to graduate. He is an avid traveler and aviation enthusiast.
He is also part of the Google Group Developers Zambia and he is one of the active members utilizing NASA’S open source OpenMCT framework to control weather data capturing chips remotely, the data is used to make predictions on crop and animal diseases with Deep Learning.
In addition, volunteers to teach kids and adults how to code.

What are you studying? Why?

I am studying Computer Science at the University of Zambia, and I have always loved to code from a very young age.
I was motivated by the power i had as a kid to be able to create programs that my friends wouldn't.
Also I am studying Computer Science because I want to further my understanding of computers and networking.
My biggest obsession right now is Deep Learning and I feel doing Computer Science will help me with Deep Learning

Why Us?

I love fedora, it was the first Linux distribution is used, Also i love the wide range of OS's, Fedora thinks about all users, from Programmers, Engineers and Music Enthusiasts.
I am keen to continuing to contribute to Fedora projects, I am mostly interested in continuing with Fedora CommOps,I want to serve the Fedora Community.
I have contacted mentors on the CommOps idea of Centralized metrics for Fedora, I have liaised with skamath mostly.
I have vast experience with Python ,REST API's and JSON in particular, also I have worked with Machine Learning for generating insights from data.
I would love to gain experience in working with a diverse number of developers, also i can then sharpen my skills in python.

Describe this project in your own words. What does it mean to you? What do you think the final deliverable is?

According to me, Fedora is looking for a program that provides Centralized metrics, at the moment, the collection of these metrics in CommOps
Is not efficient, however we are required to build a more efficient stats generator by hacking on statscache, using this will not only make the process efficient, but faster too.

Why should we choose you over other applicants?

I am a good programmer, a critical thinker and I am always looking for challenges, Also I bring to the team Machine and Deep Learning skills thats might be relevant to the project.
