Overview

  • Below are rough estimates on the time between various steps in the spin approval process under the assumption that the development of the spin is not holding things back and that it is approved at each step.
  • The spin must be approved by the Fedora Project Board before the Alpha freeze if there is to be a release of the spin along with the alpha release.
  • The spin must be approved by the feature freeze and be fully functional by the Beta freeze to be included in the upcoming release.
  • It is recommended that spin authors target the Alpha release in order to get more feedback and to have slack time in the event that there are unexpected problems.
