Hi this is my draft wiki user page, I will format this more later, for the time being i just want to get started. My name is Saurav Modak, I am an Indian student doing a bachelor in science in computer applications. I stay near Kolkata, West Bengal. I am an avid Linux fan. I am a beginner in open source genre of computing (I have only 6 months experience in it) , but i am a quick learner and have switched to Linux completely. Fedora is my favorite distro, because maybe I tried it first. I want to contribute to this community whatever I can, may be in the following areas:
- Localization : Translating fedora webpages and docs into bengali and hindi language (bengali translation is closed) :-(
- Design : Creation of some bengali and hindi fonts and Indian themes.
- Marketing : Making people near my area to understand the benefits of Linux and helping them switch to fedora
- Distribution : Fedora CDs and DVDs
Some more ambitious goals include fixing bugs and packaging as well. However, I wont be able to do them until I complete my degree and get ample experience in coding.
