Description
This test case tests whether creating a color profile for a monitor in gnome-color-management using a hardware color calibration device is successful. It requires a hardware color calibration device which is supported in Linux.
Setup
- Remove the
argyllcms
package if it is installed - Ensure the
gnome-color-manager
package is installed - Remove any previous configuration by deleting the
~/.config/gnome-color-manager
and~/.color
directories - Ensure no color calibration hardware is connected
How to test
- Run the profile management tool: on the system menus, System / Preferences / Color Profiles
- On the Defaults tab, ensure the box Apply display correction is checked
- Plug in your (supported) color calibration device
- On the Devices tab, select a connected monitor from the list, and click the Create profile for device button
- If asked whether to install packages for device support, say yes
- Follow the instructions provided for creating the profile
Expected Results
- The Create profile for device button should be inactive when no color calibration device is connected, but active when the color calibration device is connected
- The
argyllcms
package should be installed during the profile creation phase - An appropriate profile for the device should be created and applied when the profile creation process is complete
