Obsolete
As of Fedora 17, the askmethod parameter is no longer valid.

Description

This test verifies that installing using an NFS installation repository that contains the DVD.iso by askmethod boot option works. See Anaconda/Options for information on supported boot options.

Setup

  1. Set up a NFS server
  2. Copy the installation DVD.iso image into the server directory.
Don't mix images
When testing DVD ISO images, only copy the DVD ISO image for the exact release point and architecture being tested. Do not mix ISO images from different architectures or release points

How to test

  1. Boot the installer using any available means (netinst.iso, pxeboot images or DVD.iso)
  2. Direct anaconda to use NFS as the installation type by adding the boot command: askmethod and choosing NFS directory as Installation method when prompted
  3. Provide the hostname or IP address of the server and the path where your DVD.iso image is stored. Do not enter the ISO name itself as part of the path
  4. Proceed with installation

Expected Results

  1. Anaconda uses the install repository from the NFS server provided
  2. Install completes successfully
  3. Package errors (install.log) should not occur
  4. System boots successfully
