Introduccion

The Fedora team at Nicaragua (can tell us FedoraNi) has been doing activities to improve the capacities of users to help them became collaborators with activities like Fedora School. This has include de very basic skills like FAS account, wiki editing to create profile, ssh connection, gpg keys, translation among other stuff. We like to spand the abilities of local collaborators to help Fedora Project. One of the voids that we have is local knowledge of documentation skills. We propose a FAD of Documentation with two objectives. First, built local expertise that can be shared. Second, practice completing or updating documents that need some work.

Starting: August 17th, 2013 Ending: August 18th, 2013 Place: Managua, Nicaragua (address details below)

Purpose

Our purpose at organize this documentation activity day is to achieve the following goals:

  • Provide local expertise about documentation
    • This may lead to create a local documentation team.
    • Diversify the abilities of local contributors
  • Help documentation team with a full day of work
    • This will provide practice for the fresh abilities

    • Neville has a car and is willing to do airport pick-ups.
    • Neville Cross is allergic to shell fish
    • Neville Cross can borrow one or two computers to be on site for people who can not bring their own, but have to ask for it in advance.
    • Jared Smith needs as much advance notice as possible.

Logistics

Snacks/Beverages: Twice a day. Mid morning and mid afternoon. Soda or iced tea. Small sandwiches or pastry. Served in adjacent salon from hacking space.

Lunch: Two days at noon. Chicken and beef one day with white sauce, other with butter sauce for chicken and gravy for beef. Side dishes salad, rice, vegetables, bread. Soda or iced tea. Served next to the swimming pool of the hotel, if weather permit so.

Dinner: At the hotel's restaurant, international guest only. Their pick from the menu.

Social Activity: Eat out Nicaraguan popular food. Informal place, cheap.

    • Refreshments $ 200 (25 snacks and sodas X twice a day x 2 days)

      • Informal restaurant that serves what people usually eats at Nicaragua.
